What browser and version do I need to use with Online Banking?

If you are using Internet Explorer, you will need to have version 5.x or higher installed on your computer.

If you are using Netscape Communicator, you will need to have version 4.5 or higher installed on your computer.

If you are using AOL, you will need to have version 5 installed on your computer. Having AOL version 5 installed does not guarantee that you will be able to access your account via Online Banking. If you experience problems, you will need to download/install the latest version of Internet Explorer.

What is encryption?

Encryption is a process that scrambles the information you send and receive through your browser. This protects your information as it flows across the Internet and prevents people from seeing what you send and receive. Online Banking allows you to use the strongest browser encryption available.

Do I need 128-bit encryption for my browser?

Yes. 128-bit encryption gives you the highest level of browser security provided and is required to access your account with Online Banking.

How do I get 128-bit encryption?

If you are using Internet Explorer, you will need to click Help / About Internet Explorer. Once the box opens showing you what version of browser you are using, click on the text link that reads "Update Information." A new browser window will open, and you will be directed to the Microsoft site to download the 128-bit encryption patch. After you have downloaded the patch, simply run the file, and your browser will have the highest level of security.

If you are using Netscape Communicator, you will actually need to download another browser from the Netscape web site that has 128-encryption.
