(Kristen) Welcome to Money Matters at 7:57 with Justin Chastain. And, Justin, for those out there who are trying to cut back this year, what are some ways to really save money on a tight budget?

(Justin) Don’t take yourself too seriously. So, I always tell people it’s not about cutting things out or giving things up. It’s what are you adding value towards? So, when you’re looking at your value-based budgeting, make sure if you don’t value something in your budget or whatever you’re spending your money on – as Joey Gladstone said on Full House, even though he’s not Uncle Jesse – you got to cut it out, right? So, yeah, there you go. And I don’t have a woodchuck. That would be a nice little prop to have. But, again, make sure you just look at your values and you’re not overspending on things that you don’t.

(Kristen) And that’s a big thing. Get an outside party like a trusted advisor to really help you narrow that down.

(Justin) Always.

(Kristen) All right. Thank you so much, Justin. We’ll see you guys next time at 7:57. And until then, remember financial wellness starts here.
