SouthernU™ Student Checking
At Southern Bank, we believe banking is personal, allowing us to come alongside our customers – and community – with care and support. SouthernU™ Student Banking enables students and young adults 13 to 25 years old to have access not only to their money but also to some pretty great features that will protect and guide these special customers toward fiscal responsibility. The SouthernU Student Checking account needs an opening deposit of only $25, and is available for students 18+ to open online!

SouthernU™ Student Savings
It’s never too early to invest in your future. With an additional $25 deposit, the SouthernU™ Student Savings account is the perfect way to start socking away the money you’re earning today so you can watch it grow up with you. You can then take advantage of our Savings Made Simple program, which automatically rounds up your debit card purchases to the nearest dollar and deposits that difference into your savings account.
Interest COMPOUNDS DAILY based on the DAILY COLLECTED balance of the account. Rates are subject to change. Interest is credited to the account on the last day of the month or at checking statement drop if the account is combined with a SouthernU™ Student Checking account. Accounts closed before interest is credited will not receive the accrued interest.
