ABOUT SOUTHERN BANCSHARES
Southern BancShares (N.C.), Inc., is the holding company for Southern Bank and Trust Company, which operates more than 60 branches in North Carolina and Virginia. The bank offers financial products and services, including commercial loans, mortgage loans, checking, savings, Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs), and Certificate of Deposit Accounts (CDs). The bank primarily uses funds from deposits to originate commercial and one-to-four-family mortgages. The bank also offers business loans, construction loans, consumer loans, equity line loans, and lease financing.
