MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. — Southern Bank announced that Paul McCombie has accepted the role of Regional Executive, where he will lead the bank’s efforts across both the Wilmington and Raleigh markets.

McCombie brings nearly 40 years of banking experience to the role, including a decade of leadership in Wilmington, where he has served as Commercial Market Executive and Area Executive. Throughout his career, he has held a range of leadership positions across both markets, giving him deep familiarity with the local communities, customers, and business landscapes he will now oversee.

As a longtime member of the regional team, McCombie has built strong working relationships with many of the colleagues he will lead — relationships that position him well to step into the role on day one.

“Paul brings considerable market expertise and leadership qualities that will be invaluable in his new role,” said Taylor Harell, President. “We look forward to all that this region will continue to accomplish under his leadership.”
