(Kristen) Welcome to Money Matters at 7:57 with Justin Chastain. And, Justin, all right. Let’s talk about this: holiday debt that many of us built up out there. So, what are some good tips and tricks to help you stick through your financial values and really kind of conquer that debt?

(Justin) Just use an alias when you’re taking out the debt. I’m kidding. I’m totally kidding. What I would tell people is, don’t overspend. And if you did? Don’t panic. There are plans that can help you with that. Matter of fact, a lot of financial institutions now have what they ā€œcall money aggregators,ā€ or there are tools to help you spend smarter and save wiser. You see things out there like Mint, Every Dollar, You Need a Budget. We have one called My Dashboard, and one of the tabs in there is to develop a strategy to help reduce that debt because that’s where financial stress really lies – is in the debt.

(Kristen) All right, well, go talk to your trusted advisor. They’ll tell you how to get on that dashboard.

(Justin) To help you with a plan.

(Kristen) All right. Thank you so much, Justin. We’ll see you guys next time at 7:57. Until then, remember financial wellness starts here.
